Handmade on the potter's wheel, this large soup bowl holds comforting noodle and broth meals. The flared rim is designed to drink directly from the bowl to finish each drop. The bowl’s high foot prevents burning your hands when holding hot food.

Thrown on the potter's wheel

After drying, the bowl was put back on the wheel for trimming

The bowl was dried again and bisque fired in the electric kiln at 955⁰C
(1,751⁰F). It was dipped in glaze and painted before being fired a second time at 1,222⁰C (2,223⁰F)

How is handmade ceramic made?

Pottery is vibrant with life. Pleasing to the eye and touch, it carries history and human sensitivity. But creating handmade ceramics professionally requires years of experience, aesthetic sensitivity, deep technical skill and a great deal of patience.
