Thrown on the wheel by Catherine using porcelain, this 200 ml cup is ideal for tea or for refreshing water. This piece is a straightforward reference to climate change. She printed turbines and a hot stove on a bright orange background as a reminder that our planet continues to warm. The piece invites you to find solutions as you integrate it into your daily routine.

Process

Catherine makes each bowl on the potter's wheel

Once the bowl is dry, she puts it back on the wheel to trim it. It’s also at this stage that she paints it with bright orange pigment

Catherine fires her pieces three times in an electric kiln over several days: a bisque firing, a glaze firing at ˜1,232⁰C (2,250°F), and a final firing for the handmade decals
