Process

Thrown on the potter's wheel

After drying, the planter was put back on the wheel for trimming

The planter was dried again and bisque fired in the electric kiln at 955⁰C
(1,751⁰F). Yukari painted orchids with wax and dipped the planter in glaze and fired it a final time at 1,222⁰C (2,223⁰F)

How is handmade ceramic made?

Pottery is vibrant with life. Pleasing to the eye and touch, it carries history and human sensitivity. But creating handmade ceramics professionally requires years of experience, aesthetic sensitivity, deep technical skill and a great deal of patience.
